A city where ancient and modern India interweaves, Pune is a flourishing centre for business and academia in India. Despite the clogged traffic and pollution that usually go with any Indian city, Pune is an appealing place to chill out for a day or two just to glimpse the much advertised, but occasionally hard to find, ‘New India’. Being dubbed as the ‘Oxford of the East’, there are many educational institutions in Pune. The city has the most diverse students in India, making Pune a perfect place for young travellers. Pune’s vibrancy is incredible. For example, Fergusson Road is full with young people and extremely lively every Saturday evening. Meanwhile during cold nights, a massive number of students flock to Pune’s coffee houses just to sip a hot drink.
