Khajuraho overview

Khajuraho Travel Guide
Khajuraho’s rather isolated setting makes it a perfect retreat for travellers wanting a much quieter place. The small town, located in Madhya Pradesh, is well-known for the largest groups of medieval Jain and Hindu temples. Khajuraho’s religious monument, famous for its erotic rock carvings, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is considered as one of the ‘Seven Wonders of India’. Many believe that all sculptures found on the temples are of erotic nature. However, this is not the case as there are three groups of temples listed under UNESCO and only a few of them portray the Kamasutra scenes. It will take tourists no less than a day to visit all medieval temples in Khajuraho. For holidaymakers who do not have that much time, visiting the western group of monuments is highly recommended.
