Jodhpur overview

Jodhpur is mainly famous for its striking Meherangarh Fort. Located on top of a hill, it can only be reached by a steep climb but it offers outstanding views of the old city and the new Jodhpur. With its massive gateways, museums and palaces, touring the fort itself can take nearly one day. In the old city, tourists will be walking in narrow winding streets, lined with colourful markets and blue houses. Sardar Market is the lively market situated in the heart of the city and is nearby the clock tower, which is another famous Jodhpur landmark. There are many interesting sites around Jodhpur, such as Osiyan and Mandore. The ancient town of Osiyan is quite near to Thar Desert, famous for camel safari; while Mandore offers huge gardens with memorials of previous maharajas.
